Animorphs is a series of paintings that I’ve made special for my first solo exhibition in 2015. Inspired by an English language science fantasy series of young adult books with the same title written by K. A. Applegate.

Animorphs – The story revolves around five humans, who obtain the ability to transform into any animal

This idea pop-out in my mind after I met some talented people at my friend’s wedding party. They are good looking models, and talented people with strong character. Most of my works is about animal and anthropomorphism. Anthropomorphism is the attribution of human traits, emotions, and intentions to non-human entities and is considered to be an innate tendency of human psychology. Before I start to paint, I met all models and interview them personally to get to know their personality and character. So I can choose the right animal to represent their character. Done with the interview, I got all the material. For the design process I just make it simple, put the model and their animal character in one frame. The result is human portrait and their animal spirits.

Sara and her animal spirit – The Vermilion Flamingo
Sandra and her animal spirit – The Rainbow Butterfly
Mita and her animal spirit – The Black Panther
Jay and his animal spirit – The Blue Wolf
Ilham and his animal spirit – The Green Stag
Hendita and her animal spirit- The White Dove
Hasby and his animal spirit – The Cobalt Horse
Garuda and his animal spirit – The Falcon
Dika and his animal spirit – The Golden Lion
Chandra and his animal spirit – The White Tiger
